Cancellation of Kagoshima Marathon 2021

Unfortunately, after much deliberation regarding holding the annual Kagoshima Marathon next scheduled to take place on March 7 2021, it was concluded that with no end to the pandemic in sight, it would once again be too difficult to hold while ensuring the safety of runners, staff and the citizens of Kagoshima City.
Once the Covid-19 pandemic is resolved, we look forward to once again being able to hold the Kagoshima Marathon with safety in mind, while creating a fantastic experience for runners and citizens alike.
In addition, those who applied to participate in the Kagoshima Marathon 2020 before its cancellation were scheduled to have entry priority in the next event. However, taking into consideration countermeasures for the coronavirus such as reviewing the maximum number of participants etc. we are still deliberating on how to hold the next event safely and cannot give a definite answer at this point in time.
We will make further announcements as soon as the details are decided. We appreciate your understanding on the matter.

在筹办鹿儿岛马拉松2021的过程中，我们经过各方面的反复讨论，得出了在新型冠状病毒感染症尚未结束的现状下，无法确保参赛者、工作人员及市民们等的安心、安全的结论。我们深表遗憾，继上次大会，现决定停办本次大会。
我们衷心希望新型冠状病毒感染症早日结束，迎来鹿儿岛马拉松作为安心、安全的，让参赛者、市民们都欢欣喜悦的大会举办的那一天。我们将为下次大会的举办不懈努力。
此外，关于对原已预定参加2020年马拉松的参赛者给予优先报名下次大会机会的事项，考虑到募集人数以及新型冠状病毒感染症的应对措施等等，我们正在探讨今后大会的运营方案。现在还无法向您明示。
日后，方案一旦决定，我们将再次通知您，希望得到您的谅解。
